BULVERDE, Texas -- Futurex, provider of payment-security products for the financial industry, has added key management hardware security to its encryption solutions for use in ATM and POS networks.
According to a news release, the KMS7000 incorporates Triple DES security with the latest in advanced key management techniques, enabling ATM network administrators to facilitate the creation, management, and delivery of sensitive encryption keys to remote ATM or merchant terminals.
The KMS7000 has the ability to generate secured paper key-parts for manual key loading, as well as incorporate the latest in PKI technologies for remote key distribution to compatible ATMs in the field, the release stated.
The KMS7000 interacts with Excrypt Host Security Modules (HSMs) and other Network Security Processors for transparent key migration between security boundaries. This will give customers connectivity options for their HSMs that were not available through other products.
"With the growing speed of today's computers and the increased ingenuity of hackers, the security of ATM network keys has always been our focus. This product will now give the freedom of true remote key management to ATM network providers and empower them with the knowledge that all their remote keys will stay secured at a reasonable cost," said Brett Smith, CEO of Futurex, LLC, in the release.
