Fujitsu sells first Series 8000 ATM in Canada

January 27, 2003

DALLAS -- Fujitsu Transaction Solutions Inc. has made the first sale of a Series 8000 ATM to a Canadian customer, Mount Lehman Credit Union (MLCU) in Mount Lehman, British Columbia.

Following certification by the Interac Association's Shared CashFujit Dispensing network, MLCU, a single-branch credit union, purchased and installed the Model 8040 ATM equipped with Fujitsu's Prism software for use as an outdoor, 24-hour banking center.

Gene Blishen, MLCU's general manager, said in a news release that customers have responded well to the new look and feel of the ATM.

"Mount Lehman's purchase of the Model 8040 ATM marks Fujitsu's first Series 8000 unit in the Canadian market," said Bill Witte, senior vice president of financial systems for Fujitsu. "Our plans call for continued expansion of Fujitsu's financial systems offerings in Canada and throughout North America."

According to the release, Fujitsu has previously supplied ATMs to some of the largest Canadian credit unions, with customers including VanCity Savings Credit Union in Vancouver and British Columbia and Coast Capital Savings in Surrey, British Columbia.

The Windows 2000-based Series 8000 ATMs offer a built-in Web browser, among other features designed to promote advanced functionality at the ATM.
