From Russia, with deals, for NCR

June 6, 2002

LONDON -- NCRhas announced a series of ATM deals with Russian banks, according to a news release.

Bank Vozrozdenie, which is in the process of expanding its ATM network, has extended its relationship with NCR by ordering 70 NCR Personas ATMs.

In St. Petersburg and the northwestern region, two major Russian banks -- Industrial and Construction Bank and Bank Baltyisky -- are expanding their presence in the ATM market and have signed contracts for 45 and 50 ATMs, respectively. In addition to the ATMs, NCR will provide hardware, and installation and support services.

Additional Russian customers include Alfa-Bank, which has purchased 150 ATMs, and new NCR customer Bank of Moscow, which signed a contract for the delivery of 400 ATMs over a two-year period.

Information published by the Central Bank of the Russian Federation reveals that there are currently only 40 ATMs per million people in Russia, compared to 1,200 ATMs per million people in the United States and 553 ATMs per million people in Western Europe.

That figure, coupled with recent positive trends in the Russian economy reveals a huge potential for growth in the financial self-service market, said Simon Rubin, NCR Financial Solutions division's vice president of marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

"The trend in Russia is toward providing a full range of self-service solutions, and this is reflected in the orders we are now seeing and in conversations we are having with customers," Rubin said in a news release.

NCR also signed a $2.1 million contract with Aval Bank, the Ukraine's second largest bank, for the purchase of Personas 84 and Personas 70 ATMs.
