Frisco Bay gets McDonald's Canada contract

December 3, 2001

MONTREAL -- Frisco Bay Industries Ltd. (NASDAQ :FBAY), through its joint venture Frisco/ATMS, has signed an agreement with McDonald's Canada to supply and install ATMs in McDonald's restaurants across the country.

Prior to signing the agreement, Frisco/ATMS had installed 50 ATMs, on a trial basis, at various corporate and franchise McDonald's restaurants in the provinces of Nova Scotia, Quebec, Ontario, Alberta and British Columbia.

By the end of this year, Frisco Bay expects to have 100 units in McDonald's outlets. Ron Waxman, vice chairman of Frisco Bay Industries, said he expects that number to grow to several hundred units by the end of 2002.

"We are very pleased to add McDonald's Canada to our roster of blue chip ATM clients," said Barry Katsof, chairman and chief executive officer of Frisco Bay. "This agreement further solidifies our goal of capturing prime real estate locations for our units throughout Canada."

"After the traditional markets such as c-stores, transportation and gas, fast food is one of the markets that seems to be opening up," Waxman said.
