Forsyth County, Georgia plan to bring ordinances to regulate bitcoin ATMs following reports of fraud. The county's Sheriff Office told commissioners that residents have lost $5.9 million in scams in 2025 so far, according to a report by 95.5 WSB.

"We've had victims that had deposited over $100,000 into an ATM machine and a scam which was over $30,000 in fees, almost 30%," Captain Bill Franco said.

The commissioners voted for the county attorney to draft a ordinance that would both require warning signs about fraud lists and put regulations in place to combat fraud.
