Former London Stock Exchange director joins Mosaic Software board

December 3, 2001

DEERFIELD BEACH, Fla. and LONDON – Gavin Casey, who was chief executive of the London Stock Exchange until September 2000, has joined Mosaic Software's Board of Directors.

"I was very taken with the Mosaic team. They are a bright group with strong management, operating in a fascinating business," Casey said.

During Casey's four-year stint with the LSE, he was responsible for implementing the board's strategy and or demutualizing the exchange, enabling it to become a for-profit company. Before joining the LSE in 1996, he served as group finance director and later chief operating officer of Smith New Court plc, an international securities house based in London (acquired by Merrill Lynch in 1995).

Willem van Biljon, Mosaic's group CEO, said, "Gavin's experience and in-depth knowledge of the  financial markets and European business environment in general will be of  huge benefit to Mosaic, and will complement the management team and the board."

Recently, ex-Microsoft executive Paul Maritz was also appointed to Mosaic Software's board.
