ModernFi, a deposit management company, appointed Rodney Hood to its board. He previously served as the Comptroller of the Currency from February to June 2025, according to a press release.

"I have spent my career working to strengthen the resiliency of the financial system, promoting financial inclusion and access, and ensuring institutions of all sizes have the tools to serve their communities," Hood said in the release. "It is a pleasure to rejoin the ModernFi Board, as the firm is focused on a similar mission – ensuring community financial institutions can continue to compete, grow, and thrive. It's been wonderful to watch ModernFi's rapid adoption by hundreds of institutions, and I look forward to providing oversight and contributing my expertise."

Hood also served as the director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp.

"The breadth of Rodney's regulatory experience is unmatched. We are thrilled to welcome Rodney back to the team," Paolo Bertolotti, co-founder and CEO of ModernFi, said in the release. "As ModernFi scales and becomes critical infrastructure for the institutions we serve, his experience and expertise will help ensure that we not only deliver innovative and impactful solutions, but do so with the highest standards of compliance, governance, and safety."
