SIMBACH, Germany - A thief who broke into an ATM at a German bank forgot most of his loot a short time later in a nearby telephone booth, according to a report in the Independent Online.
Police have yet to catch the absent-minded thief, who helped himself to €28 000 ($34,318 U.S.) in 50-euro notes from the ATM in Simbach, then left €23 000 ($28,189 U.S.) next to the phone.
"Perhaps he thought €5 000 ($6,128 U.S.) was enough," quipped a policeman.
