Fleet selects NCR's check imaging archive

DAYTON, Ohio -- FleetBoston Financial (NYSE:FBF) has selected NCR Corporation's (NYSE:NCR) ImageMark Archive as its new archive for check image storage and delivery.

In addition to managing the image storage and retrieval requirements for the five million items received daily from across the entire Fleet banking network, ImageMark Archive will deliver check images to the bank's CD-ROM, image statement and online Web delivery applications. According to a news release, ImageMark Archive will also provide a direct interface to Viewpointe, Fleet's outsource provider for longer-term storage of check images.

Fleet also plans to use NCR's ImageMark Capture for ATM envelope balancing, a deal that was announced earlier this year. (See related story NCR's ImageMark reduces Fleet's manual entry of ATM deposits)
