Fiserv touts tablet-based tech for instant-issue bankcards

August 30, 2017

Fiserv Inc. recently announced the launch of its Instant Issue Advantage wireless tablet solution, a branch-based system that puts activated, ready-to-use cards in the hands of customers on the spot, according to a press release.

"Instant card issuance is one service consumers increasingly expect, and with its wireless tablet solution, Fiserv further reduces waiting times for new cards and enhances the cardholder experience," said Tiffani Montez, a retail banking senior analyst with Aite Group.

Instant Issue Advantage allows an FI's staff members to greet and verify members in the lobby and then provide them with a tablet to access information and instantly receive a permanent EMV-enabled bankcard.

Credit union executives at Rochester, Minnesota-based First Alliance Credit Union have found the solution to be a particular differentiator, Fiserv said.

New and existing members no longer have to wait for a new card to arrive in the mail when opening an account or replacing a lost or stolen card. According to the release, the solution has helped the CU to attract younger members and strengthen member relationships.
