MILWAUKEE -- The TYME regional EFT network is making a major move into the Minnesota market with the decision by Milwaukee-based Firstar to switch all of its ATMs in Minneapolis and St. Paul to TYME.
"This is significant for TYME because it's our first big market penetration outside Wisconsin," said TYME president James H. Martin. "Minneapolis-St. Paul is a very competitive market so we're delighted that Firstar chose us."
Firstar now is part of Norwest's Instant Cash network. But by mid-May, Firstar's 30 ATMs in the Twin Cities will carry the TYME logo. Firstar will deploy 75 to 100 additional ATMs in the market over the next few months that also will carry the TYME name. Of the 30 ATMs in Minneapolis and St. Paul, 29 are located at Firstar branches and one is off-premise.
"It's a natural move for us because we've had a strong relationship with TYME in Wisconsin, going all the way back to its founding in 1976," said Robin Nenninger, Firstar's senior vice president of alternative delivery channels.
TYME's 520 participating financial institutions operate about 13,000 ATMs and POS terminals in Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, and Minnesota.
