First Data launches new functionality for STAR network prepaid cards

First Data, an electronic payments provider, has announced the launch of load and reload support for its STAR network-branded, general purpose prepaid cards. According to a news release from First Data, the new functionality will be available at participating ATM and POS locations.
Julie Saville, vice president of product development First Data, says the new functionality will make transacting with the STAR prepaid network more secure:
The launch of this functionality clearly demonstrates the commitment to technology and higher security that First Data and STAR continue to make on behalf of STAR member financial institutions and general-purpose prepaid issuers. It's another example of how First Data and STAR are enabling the full spectrum of profitable, secure payment transactions for card issuers and ATM deployers.
