First Data elects David Coulter to board

DENVER - First Data Corp. has elected David A. Coulter to its board of directors, according to a news release.

Coulter, 58, serves as managing director and senior advisor at Warburg Pincus, which focuses on the firm's financial services practice. Before joining Warburg, Coulter held executive positions with JPMorgan Chase & Co., The Chase Manhattan Corporation, Beacon Group L.P., BankAmerica Corp. and Bank of America NT&SA.

Coulter also is a director of PG&E Corp. and Pacific Gas and Electric Co., a senior advisor to RRE Ventures and a director of Strayer Education Inc.

"I am very pleased to have David join our board of directors," said First Data chairman and chief executive Ric Duques. "David's deep knowledge and experience in financial services combined with his stature as an industry leader will allow him to contribute significantly to the company as we move ahead."
