May 26, 2022

Fifth Third Bank recently announced it expanded its Early Pay service to include gig work as well as certain forms of government and retirement benefits. With this service, these customers can get access to paychecks up to two days in advance, according to a press release.

Customers can access this feature with a Fifth Third Momentum Checking account.

"We want to make sure all of our customers have fast access to their liquidity, regardless of where they work," Tim Spence, president of Fifth Third Bank, said in the release. "You should have the same banking services regardless of whether you file a 1099, a W2 or are retired. This is Fifth Third's latest offering in a comprehensive suite of products and services focused on continued innovative solutions."

Fifth Third offers other services including:

  • MyAdvance to advance funds of $50 or more against future qualified direct deposits.
  • Immediate Funds to get instant access to deposits for a small fee.
  • Extra Time to make a deposit to avoid overdraft fees.
