Fifth Third appoints chairman, COO, CFO

Fifth Third Bancorp made several changes to its executive leadership, including appointing Tim Spence as chairman of the board, president and CEO. In addition, Jaime Leonard will move from CFO to COO, according to a press release.

Bryan Preston, current treasurer, will replace Leonard as CFO.

"These changes are designed to best position Fifth Third for the future," Spence said in the release. "I'm thrilled to elevate Jamie to the newly created position of chief operating officer. His leadership, combined with a streamlined reporting structure, gives us the opportunity to continue delivering on our priorities of stability, profitability and growth. I'm also excited to elevate Bryan and Brennen. Their appointments demonstrate the deep bench of talent across our organization."
