The Federal Home Loan Bank of Dallas delivered $99.4 million in grants so far this year through its Affordable Housing Program and homeownership programs. In particular, $79.4 million went to the AHP General Fund for financing purchasing, constructing or rehabilitating of rental, owner-occupied housing and housing for homeless, according to a press release.

"Our nation has a critical shortage of affordable housing options," Sanjay Bhasin, president and CEO, FHLB Dallas, said in the release. "We have options for homeowners and renters through our programs, which provide very low- to moderate-income residents, older residents and people with disabilities access to affordable housing."

The grants also went towards the following programs:

  • $15.5 million for Homebuyer Equity Leverage Partnership for down payment and closing cost assistance.
  • $2.5 million for Disaster Rebuilding Assistance for repairs.
  • $2 million for Special Needs Assistance Program.
