PRAGUE, Czech Republic and LEAWOOD, Kan. -- Euronet Worldwide (Nasdaq: EEFT), a provider of secure financial transaction solutions, has been selected to operate Bank Austria Creditanstalt's ATM network in the Czech Republic.
The agreement between Euronet Worldwide and Bank Austria Creditanstalt provides complete outsourcing services including ATM installation, monitoring, dispatch, maintenance, telecommunications, cash delivery, authorization and customer support. Additionally, Bank Austria Creditanstalt will become one of the first banks to offer the sale of pre-paid GSM airtime through ATMs in the Czech Republic.
With the addition of new ATMs under this agreement, Bank Austria Creditanstalt will increase the number of ATMs employing the bank's brand name by more than 70 percent in the next 12 months.
"We are very pleased to have been selected by Bank Austria Creditanstalt to provide these services," said Miro Bergman, managing director for Euronet Worldwide in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. "This program is another example of the trend in Central Europe for multi-national banks to outsource key distribution services both in the Czech Republic and regionally."
Euronet owns and operates an independent ATM network in Europe with corporate headquarters in Leawood, Kan., and European headquarters in Budapest, Hungary.
