BUDAPEST, Hungary, and LEAWOOD, Kan. - Electronic financial transaction solution provider Euronet Worldwide Inc. (NASDAQ: EEFT) has reached an agreement with Vodafone Hungary to provide ATM recharge services at 371 Euronet-branded ATMs throughout Hungary.
Vodafone becomes the third mobile operator in Hungary to sign up for Euronet's service, joining Pannon GSM and Westel. According to Euronet and Vodafone, Hungary has more than 5 million mobile phone subscribers, 78 percent of whom use prepaid services.
Using Euronet's service, mobile phone customers can recharge their phones at Euronet ATMs. Once the recharge is finished, the ATM automatically debits the subscriber's account.
Euronet has also added clients in Romania, Poland, and the UK during the first six months of 2002.
