Euronet conference to team financial institutions, mobile operators

PRAGUE and LEAWOOD, Kansas -- Euronet Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: EEFT) will host a Financial Solutions Conference 2002 on April 22-24 at the Prague Marriott in the Czech Republic.

"Electronic Financial Solutions: Fostering Cross-Industry Synergies and Optimizing Electronic Payment Transactions" is designed to bring together mobile operators and financial institutionsfrom Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the United States, according to a news release.

Industry experts will examine how the latest developments in electronic transactions and payment solutions are impacting financial institutions and mobile operators. Keynote addresses will be delivered by Andrzej Olechowski and Josef Zieleniec, former Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Poland and the Czech Republic. 

In a news release, Michael J. Brown, Euronet Worldwide chairman and chief executive officer, said the event will feature case studies and presentations on electronic transactions, bill payment, outsourcing, loyalty programs and other issues that relate to regional and international organizations.

Speakers from 13 countries will include executives from financial institutions, such as BRE Bank, Egyptian American Bank, Piraeus Bank, Citicorp, Budapest Bank, Bank Zachodni WBK, Inteligo Financial Services and Visa International. Speakers will also represent mobile operators including Swisscom Mobile, Satelindo, Escotel, Orange UK, max.mobil and Plus GSM, as well as content providers such as AOL & Turner Broadcasting and magic4.

Conference exhibitors and sponsors will include NCR, Thales-eSecurity, Diebold, VeriFone, Lansa, Papelaco Banking Machines, Vision Solutions and Hypercom.
