DULLES, Va. - Encore Networks has introduced a new cellular data module for its BANDIT family of IP+legacy VPN routers, according to a news release.
The new modules - code-division multiple access and global systems for mobile communications - bring IP connectivity in a cellular footprint and allow legacy-protocol users to convert their serial data protocols to IP.
BANDIT products also support IPsec VPN with Triple DES encryption and firewall, and can provide a fast, secure and economical deployment solution for permanent and temporary installations, the release added. On low-bandwidth devices like ATMs and point-of-sale devices, the BANDIT can provide up to 144 kbps of cellular bandwidth for approximately $8 per month.
