Emirates NBD taps Diebold Nixdorf to implement EasyHub 'mini-branch' kiosk

Emirates NBD, a Middle Eastern financial institution, has partnered with Diebold Nixdorf for a planned launch of EasyHub, an integrated digital kiosk that allows customers to sign up for new products and access a variety of teller services.

According to a press release, this will be the first Middle East deployment of the technology, which can serve as a "mini-branch" that is open beyond at all hours and days of the week.

The EasyHub self-service banking experience features assistance from a video banker who can guide customers via onscreen instructions and step-by-step assistance.

The technology will allow selected customers to open current or savings accounts and instantly obtain a personalized debit card. Customers will also be able to conduct routine teller services such as cash deposit and withdrawal; check cashing, including coins; check deposits; and internal fund transfers.

Additionally, customers will also be able to carry out a variety of everyday banking services such as updating their personal details, requesting a checkbook, authenticating statements; and even applying for a personal loan, without having to wait at a bank counter.

The solution is enabled by Diebold Nixdorf Vynamic Connection Points multivendor self-service software that facilitates the implementation of customized applications, and comes equipped with a debit card dispenser, biometric signature pad, an A4 document scanner and statement printer, a specialized ID card reader, a cash recycler and coin dispenser, and an NFC receiver for contactless transactions.

"Emirates NBD EasyHub is another example of the bank's tech plus touch philosophy that combines digital convenience with the comfort of human touch," said Suvo Sarkar, Emirates NBD senior executive vice president and group head of retail banking and wealth management. "Starting with the launch of the first interactive teller machine in the region a few years back to introducing [Emirates NBD Virtual Assistant] AI-powered voice assistant and FaceBanking video banking, Emirates NBD has been seamlessly combining digital with the physical to provide a superior customer experience."
