HERNDON, Va. -- The Electronic Funds Transfer Association (EFTA) is sponsoring a one-day seminar on Triple DES on Thursday, April 3 in Irving, Texas.
The seminar is geared to help attendees plan their Triple DES implementation programs, according to an EFTA announcement.
Keynote speaker Abe Abraham, president of Abraham & Associates, Inc., will explain what Triple DES is and the reason it is becoming the ATM encryption standard.
Abraham's presentation will be followed by three panels, focusing on network, acquirer and vendor roles in Triple DES.
The panels will be moderated by EFTA directors Bob Barone, a former vice chairman of Diebold; Dale Dentlinger, director of E*Trade Access; and John MacAllister, of Benton Consulting Partners.
Members of the network panel will include representatives from Visa, MasterCard, Star Systems, Pulse and NYCE.
Members of the acquirers panel will include representatives from Cardtronics, eFunds, Innobeta and Bank of America.
Members of the vendors panel will include representatives from Concord EFS, NCR, Metavante, Tidel and Diebold.
Cost for EFTA members is $395; cost for non-members is $595. EFTA has also arranged for a special room rate at the Embassy Suites where the seminar will take place.
