November 10, 2004

FAIRFAX, Va. - The Electronic Funds Transfer Association, an inter-industry trade association dedicated to the advancement of electronic payment systems and commerce, has elected Metavante Corp.'s Frank D'Angelo as its chairman.

D'Angelo is a senior executive vice president of Metavante and group executive of its Payment Solutions Group.

D'Angelo, who will serve a two-year term as chairman, succeeds Dale Dentlinger, formerly of E*Trade Financial, Inc.

"I look forward to continuing the Electronic Funds Transfer Association's unique role in promoting the adoption of electronic payment systems," said D'Angelo. "Our industry will face a number of challenges over the next several years and the association, as it has for nearly 30 years, will continue to play a leadership role in meeting those challenges."

In addition to electing D'Angelo, the EFTA Board of Directors also elected Scott Qualls, managing director of the Financial Services Practice at BB&T Corp., as vice chairman. Sandra Hartfield, president and CEO of Palm Desert National Bank's Electronic Banking division, was elected treasurer.

"The new leadership team reflects the dynamic nature of the marketplace and helps position EFTA at the forefront of such change" said H. Kurt Helwig, EFTA's executive director.
