COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Electronics payment expert Del Tonguette, a 30-year veteran of the banking industry, has joined the Columbus office of Actoras Consulting Group, a national executive management consulting firm headquartered in Schaumburg, Ill.
Tonguette called Columbus "the ideal city for establishing an electronic payments consultancy," noting that "many pioneering ATM and POS programs started in Columbus."
The advent of ecommerce is changing all of the old rules of business, Tonguette said. "It takes a clear understanding of the information technology revolution to successfully navigate the competitive business arena."
Tonguette most recently was principal consultant at Business and Marketing Solutions. Previously, he helped develop the EFT network Calypso, based in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Tonguette also was president and CEO of GulfNet Inc. of New Orleans, which provided electronic banking services to financial institutions, retailers and processors in the south central U.S. Formed with an initial investment of $200,000, the company was worth an estimated $12 million to $15 million when it was acquired by the Pulse network in early 1997.
