EAO switches useful for space-restrictive applications

March 23, 2005

MILFORD, Conn. - EAO's Series 71 includes a wide range of push buttons, indicators, keylocks, and selector switches, all incorporating a unique PCB assembly system that the company says guarantees ergonomic and user-friendly operation and maintenance.

With a behind-panel depth of 44 millimeters, the units are especially appropriate for space-restrictive applications such as emergency vehicle control panels, compact machinery panels and on hand-held equipment.

The mounted actuator and front panel can be detached and separated from the contacts and PCB as easy as unplugging a switch from an electrical outlet, according to a news release. Just by unscrewing an interlocking pin, the two sections are separated, thus removing the panel with the contacts still soldered in place.

The Series 71 range offers a wide range of customer options. It is flush mount (ideal for anti-vandal applications), oil and water-tight to IP65 standards, available with a wide range of colored lenses, and can be illuminated by either high-intensity LEDs or incandescent lamps.

For keylocks, 135 different key codes are available, which provide high levels of security for use in access control applications.

Pricing starts at slightly more than $15.30 for select units in small quantities.
