Dutch resident arrested in Thailand for alleged ATM theft

Thai police have arrested a 60-year-old Dutch man, Sijtse K,. after he allegedly stole an ATM from Siam Commercial Bank.

Police tracked the suspect after he allegedly used a black Mazda BT-50 with a chain to take the ATM, according to a report by NL Times.

He was stopped after driving against traffic and arrested. He is allegedly facing financial strain due to heavy investments into his wife's restaurant.

"The wife had no idea what her husband was planning. She only learned about the ATM theft when we contacted her," police said in a report by Khaosod English.
