Discover partners with Qrails to deliver instant wage access to employees

Discover has partnered with QRails, a issuer-processor for payroll providers, financial institutions and fintechs, to deliver the AnyDay Discover Card, which will allow employees to gain access to wages as they earn them. The companies will offer the feature to select Discover merchant partners starting in November, according to a press release.
"Waiting weeks to get paid for the work you did yesterday is an archaic way of addressing employees' financial realities — we believe you should be able to access your money as soon as it is earned," Brian Brinkley, CEO of QRails, said in the release. "Earned wage access is an increasingly important component to attracting and retaining employees while supporting employee financial well-being, and our work with Discover Global Network is changing the status quo."
By opting into the program, merchant partners can deliver physical or virtual Discover Prepaid Cards to its employees who wish to access their paychecks early.
"The AnyDay Discover Card will help meet the needs of today's workforce by providing access to earned wages when needed," Dane James, global business development at Discover Global Network, said in the release. "It is an important part of our product portfolio and a growing trend in the payroll solutions space. This partnership will benefit all parties along the payroll process."
