Discover intros Cashback Debit account with early paycheck access

Discover recently introduced its Cashback Debit account with features such as early access to paychecks two days in advance and rewards with up to 1% cash back on $3,000 of purchases. The account also has no monthly maintenance, insufficient funds or overdraft fees, according to a press release.
Other features include:
- Access to 60,000 no-fee ATMs.
- Mobile wallet through Apple Pay.
- Security features such as ability to momentarily freeze the debit card.
"While our competitors are now starting to lower their fees, Discover set an example for the industry when it proactively removed all deposit account fees in 2019, saving customers millions," Carlos Minetti, president of consumer banking at Discover, said in the release. "The latest evolution of our Cashback Debit checking account aims to help people more easily move and manage their money while making banking more accessible for consumers with an ability to apply in minutes and no fees."
