February 2, 2012

According to a press release, Diebold Inc. has won a bid to supply more than 3,800 ATMs to Caixa Economica Federal, the second largest state-owned bank in Brazil. The ATMs have been purchased to replace outdated machines, equip new branches and expand customer service due to the growth of CAIXA's account holder base.

Diebold will provide the machines, as well as installation and on-site maintenance. More than 3,500 of the ATMs will be full-function terminals; and ab additional 285 terminals will feature a check sheet printing function. Security features of the ATMs include:

  • Fingerprint biometrics
  • Seismic sensors and systems
  • Anti-skimming technology

"The Brazil team's extensive expertise in self-service technology and delivery, coupled with the team's solid understanding of the bank's needs enabled us to win this project," said Joao Abud Jr., president of Diebold Brazil. "We look forward to continuing our work with CAIXA, and remain committed to delivering high-quality products and solutions to our customers in Brazil."
