HOUSTON - Cardtronics, the nation's largest independent ATM owner/operator, has entered into a maintenance agreement with Diebold, Incorporated (NYSE: DBD.)
Under the agreement, Diebold will maintain and service approximately 20 percent of Cardtronics' ATMs, or about 2,500 machines.
"Our agreement with Cardtronics will better serve our mutual customers and advance our reputation as a nationwide leader in ATM sales and service," said Dave Bucci, Diebold's vice president of Customer Solutions, in a news release.
Cardtronics also has ATM service agreements with Genpass, Inc., for 1,150 machines, and with Efmark Service Company for 5,000 machines.
Michael Clinard, Cardtronics' chief operating officer, said in the release that Diebold would help increase ATM availability. "Their nationwide team of highly skilled, well-trained field engineers maximizes uptime throughout our ATM portfolio," he said.
