Diebold Inc. and CO-OP Financial Services have announced the installation of two new Opteva ATMs featuring CO-OP NextGen ATM shared branching at the new Lodi, Calif., branch of Premier Community Credit Union. With the introduction of the CO-OP solution in partnership with Diebold, Premier Community becomes one of the first credit unions to fully deploy shared branching at the ATM.
The solution allows members of participating CO-OP Shared Branching credit unions to access other credit union accounts or sub-accounts such as a CD or an IRA at Premier Community ATMs. Normally, ATMs offer access only to accounts linked to an ATM/debit card, which limits most transactions to checking and savings accounts. The shared branch ATMs also feature deposit automation technology.
"CO-OP NextGen ATMs give us the opportunity to be at the forefront of delivering enhanced convenience and better services for not only our members, but members of other credit unions as well," said Paul Yang, president and CEO of Premier Community Credit Union. "With deposit automation, we're introducing even greater convenience via a 24/7 channel for conducting efficient teller-like transactions."
As the industry's only shared branching solution for ATMs, the CO-OP NextGen ATM offering helps credit unions extend their reach and deliver greater member convenience. Shared branch ATMs let CU members conduct transactions at more locations — at hours that work for them. The shared branching feature can be added to existing Diebold Opteva ATMs.
