DALLAS -- ACE Cash Express, Inc., the nation's largest check-cashing chain and a provider of related retail financial services, has installed its first automatic check cashing machine, a Diebold 1062ix advanced function ATM featuring Diebold's optics platform, in Irving, Texas. Utilizing technology developed by ACE, the ATM identifies typed and computer printed checks, and extracts information from the various components of each check. ACE's proprietary system then records the check details and sends the information to ACE's network information system. When the verification process is complete, the customer's cash is dispensed. ACE serves more than 4 million customers nationwide. ACE has placed an order with Diebold to expand its test to other stores in the Dallas/Fort Worth metropolitan area. After consumer testing, ACE plans to install the self-service machines within its network of stores and at other retail locations. Diebold's 1062ix functions without an ACE employee's assistance. Because there is no call center in which personnel approve transactions, this machine represents the world's first fully automatic check-cashing solution in a retail environment. Headquartered in Irving, Texas, ACE Cash Express, Inc. is the largest owner, operator and franchiser of check-cashing stores in the U.S. The company's network includes 805 company-owned stores and 133 franchised stores in 28 states and the District of Columbia.
As a global technology leader and innovative services provider, Diebold Nixdorf delivers the solutions that enable financial institutions to improve efficiencies, protect assets and better serve consumers.
