Diebold highlights end-to-end connected solutions at Vegas event
October 26, 2016
Diebold Nixdorf demonstrated its connected commerce solutions this week at the Money20/20 conference in Las Vegas. The solutions provide "a 360-degree view of the future of consumer transactions for both retailers and financial institutions," according to a company press release.
Visitors to the company's booth at the show experienced a "day-in-the-life" journey of the future consumer:
- connected shopper — created a mobile-enabled shopping experience beginning at home with a voice service-built shopping list, and proceeding through the in-store experience and checkout with the TPiShop platform and mobile self-checkout;
- connected retailer — featured the company's MyRetail Cloud POS solution, which enables a tablet as a point-of-sale device for use by small and medium-size retailers; and
- connected to cash — wrapped up the consumer's day with a stop at an "Extreme ATM." The 10 inch-wide device features ProxToMe technology that authenticates users through their Bluetooth-enabled mobile device, which they then tap at the ATM to complete a transaction.
On the FI side, the journey focused on:
- connected insights — a case study from Banco Popular showed how advanced analytics capabilities give the FI a complete view of the self-service channel, including anticipated ATM maintenance needs;
- connected transactions — illustrated how increasing the mobility of branch staff helps an FI strengthen customer relationships;
- connected services — demonstrated the company's "always on" service philosophy in a "virtual reality adventure."
The company also showcased its omnichannel approach to loading card data into a digital wallet. Xpression SafeLoad uses a secure process that helps issuers reduce card fraud during card onboarding, the release said.
