NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Diebold, Incorporated, has acquired Cardinal Brothers Manufacturing & Operations, Pty., Ltd., a design, fabrication and manufacturing entity with a core competency in physical security for the Australian and New Zealand market.
Cardinal Brothers, headquartered in Victoria, Australia, has been Diebold's business partner since 1999, in manufacturing the rising security screen technology for financial institutions and government authorities throughout the region. According to a release, the "rising screen" has helped many Australian financial institutions protect their facilities against robberies.
Michael Cardinal, Cardinal's managing director, has been named division manager of Diebold Physical Security Solutions in Australia, a newly formed organization. He has more than 30 years of experience in engineering, design and manufacturing, with some 20 years of expertise in the security industry. He is also the inventor of the rising screen technology and former owner of Safetell, which was acquired by Diebold in 1997.
According to the release, Cardinal Brothers has 37 employees and manufactures rising screens, bullet-resistive walls and doors, anti-bandit shutters, prison security systems and other physical security equipment.
Diebold recently acquired Vangren Technology, a company specializing in the sales, service and installation of electronic security solutions throughout Australia and New Zealand. (See related story Diebold acquires Australian security firm)
