NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Diebold Inc. (NYSE: DBD), announced its acquisition of TASC Security, a London-based electronic security enterprise systems and integration company based, in a news release May 2.

TASC has regional offices in Amsterdam; Tokyo; San Francisco; Dublin, Ireland; Leeds, England; and Melbourne and Sydney, Australia. The company also has a network of offices in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.

TASC specializes in customizable and scalable electronic security solutions that include alarms, access control, closed-circuit television and video surveillance systems. It also provides system design, integration, installation and service.

TASC is the fourth security systems integration company Diebold has acquired during the past year, further supporting the company's strategic growth in the global security industry. Myles Hick, chief executive of TASC, will join Diebold as president of the TASC subsidiary. "We are excited to join a company that has a great reputation and history of success in security," Hick said. "TASC will complement the existing technology and expertise that helps shape the Diebold brand. ... TASC's existing management team will remain with Diebold and, together, we are committed to helping build the most outstanding global customer service capability in the world today."

According to Richard Baggot, vice president of Diebold's Electronic Security and Currency Systems Group, acquiring TASC is another step in the company's ongoing efforts to bring enterprise electronic security and services to customers globally. "We are excited to have TASC as part of our electronic security delivery model," he said. "There are a number of synergies between our companies, such as diverse product offerings, as well as system design, installation, service and monitoring for our customers, that we feel will be very beneficial to the marketplace.
