CU moves toward 'Universal Teller' with cash recycler upgrade

May 5, 2014

Commonwealth Credit Union, Kentucky's second largest CU, has been moving gradually toward the Universal Teller. This has been made possible with bank automation that relieves tellers of mundane, time-wasting tasks.

When it became time to upgrade, CCU surveyed the vendor market and announced that it would continue to partner with with its current providers Glory Global Solutions, a press release said.

As  part of the renewed relationship, Glory will replace some of the CCU's older cash recyclers and cash dispensers with the company's new Vertera 6G cash recycling systems.

The Vertera 6G is the latest product in Glory's Vertera series. Their existing cash dispensers (TCDs) and older model TCR units with the Vertera 6vvG recyclers across CCU's branching operations will make accepting, authenticating and storing currency even more efficient.

"We are very pleased to announce this renewed relationship with Glory,” said David W. Young, EVP of Commonwealth Credit Union. "The combination of Glory's upgraded Vertera 6G systems and their end-to-end service will help significantly reduce processing time for deposits and withdrawals across our branches. By essentially taking cash out of the equation, our staff will gain valuable time to concentrate on advising and engaging with our members."

Commonwealth Credit Union has more than 84,000 members and serves more than 250 agencies from across Kentucky, including the boards of education, health department, city and county government, and numerous state government agencies.
