Cross ships 1,000-plus ATMs in May

February 28, 2002

FREMONT, Calif. -- Cross International Technologies shipped 1,151 ATMs in May, the manufacturer's highest one-month total ever.

That number easily topped the company's previous one-month best of about 850 units, said Cross President Hansup Kwon. The company's product line includes three machines: the Mini Bank 1000, 2100 and 2200.

"With these kinds of sales, we are on target to deliver over 10,000 units this year," Kwon said.

Last year's domestic market leader, Canton, Ohio-based Diebold, shipped 9,900 units in 1999, according to Faulkner & Gray's Bank Network News.

Noting that most Cross distributors sell directly to end users rather than to sub-distributors, Kwon said, "That keeps us closer to the customer so we can deliver what they want."
