Croatia has officially changed its currency from kuna to the euro, making it the 20th country to adopt the currency. Currently, almost 70% of its ATMs are only distributing euros, with the rest to adopt the currency by Jan. 15, according to a report by CNN.

Kuna owners can exchange them for euros at any Croatian post office until June 30 or at a bank until the end of 2023. The national central bank will exchange kuna until December 2025.

Croatia's national central bank will also join the Eurosystem, the central banking system of the euro.

"I welcome Croatia to the euro family and to the ECB Governing Council table in Frankfurt," Christine Lagarde, president of the European Central Bank, said in a statement.
