Police in the wider Hartford, Connecticut area are investigating a string of ATM thefts. A group are targeting gas stations, usually by driving a car right into the entrance and stealing an ATM, according to a report by WWLP.
"There is a variety of different tactics when it comes to stealing an ATM, and most of them involve some kind of brute force, to remove the ATM and break into them, and it does seem in our case there was some type of pride device used to bust open the ATM machine," Sgt. Marc Caruso, East Hartford Police Department, said in the report.
All three gas stations were targeted while they were closed.
