Credit Union 24 announces 21 credit union renewals in Q4 2009

January 24, 2010

Credit Union 24, the country's largest credit union-owned ATM and point-of-sale (POS) network, announced recently that 21 credit unions renewed long-term contracts with the network in Q4 2009, representing more than $2.8 billion in assets with more than 300,000 members.

Credit Union 24 is a member-owned, full-service, deposit-taking ATM and POS network with multiple processor links, hundreds of thousands of POS locations at national retailers and local merchants and more than 100,000 ATM terminals across the country.

"Closing the year with 21 contract renewals is a positive compliment to the eight new credit unions that also joined the network in Q4 2009, as it directly reflects our dedication to the success of our participants in helping serve their members," said Jim Park, president and CEO of Credit Union 24. "Consumers are looking for added value, convenience, and exceptional financial products and services in this current economic climate, and we've worked hard to help ensure our participating credit unions are positioned to provide these benefits to current and potential members. We are an extension of our participants' employee teams, and we work with them to develop customized products and services to help ensure their long-term success."

A total of 73 credit unions renewed contracts with the network during 2009, representing more than $12.5 billion in assets and more than 1.3 million credit union members. Those 73 renewing credit unions route more than 31.3 million transactions annually through the Credit Union 24 network, and the 21 renewing credit unions from Q4 route 4.8 million transactions through the credit union-owned network annually.
