DUBLIN - CR2, a provider of channel banking software solutions, announced in an Aug. 12 news release that Omdurman National Bank has successfully launched and implemented the first ATMs in Sudan.
The bank rolled out its first 10 ATMs in the capital city of Khartoum and is expected to roll out a 12 more throughout the country, including Port Sudan and Wad Medini.
ONB has licensed CR2's BankWorld ATM Client, which allows ATMs to be branded in the same way as other channels; BankWorld Controller, which provides ATM fault diagnostics; and BankWorld Distributor, which allows ATM administration to be streamlined by allowing remote software updates.
The bank also signed a contract for a POS terminal management system to run alongside the existing BankWorld solution. The system allows bank customers to pay for goods and services using their ATM/debit cards.
