The Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas has found Paramount Management Group owner Daryl Heller in civil contempt for failing to comply with court orders, according to a report by WGAL. This is the latest in a long legal battle between Paramount and investors who allege the company failed to pay more than $65 million in ATM fees.
The court said in the order that, "In what appears to be a sophisticated shell game orchestrated by Daryl Heller, assets represented under oath to the court did not exist. Paramount, controlled by Heller, failed to comply, or timely comply, with numerous court orders."
The court is ordering Paramount to pay $2 million on top of a $138 million judgement that the company and investors who agreed to.
An email statement on behalf of Heller said he, "is disappointed with the factually unfounded finding of civil contempt and is exploring his options."
However, Heller mentioned several aspects of the decision by Judge Leonard Brown III that he was "pleased with."
"Mr. Heller is pleased that the Court's decision denied the plaintiffs' requests to increase the judgment by $455 million and that the Court terminated these contempt proceedings. In addition, the Court limited Mr. Heller's personal exposure to his joint and several liability for the $2,050,000 contempt penalty and ended the accrual of contempt penalties as of December 30, 2024."
Paramount Management officially shut down in December 2024 and fired all staff. The business is currently under investigation by the FBI.
