The positive response by customers to the bank's implementation of video teller technology has prompted Ion bank to add four more units.

Ion Bank, a community bank serving customers in Connecticut, is increasing its use of interactive video technology from NCR Corp. The positive response generated since the FI introduced the technology at one branch in 2012 has led to the purchase of four additional units to be installed at two additional branch locations.
“Our customers have responded enthusiastically to this technology,” said Dawn D. Orsini, vice president of retail banking at Ion. “This is a great opportunity to give our customers the added convenience of longer banking hours. Our interactive tellers enable us to leverage the latest technology with the traditional banking experience. It was a natural step to expand our use of this technology to additional locations throughout our service area.”
Through Interactive Teller, Ion Bank is able to extend teller service beyond banking hours with remote teller availability from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday — an additional 27 hours of banking services per week.
