BALTIMORE, MD -- ATM Advertising, Inc., a national sales and brokerage agency for ATM advertising, has been contracted through DDB Needham to orchestrate an ATM advertising program for Houston-based Compaq Computer Corporation in six national markets. ATM Advertising Inc. is billing the two-month deal as the largest paid buy of ATM advertising to date. Over 1,700 machines will carry full-color screen messages, reinforced with either full-color or black and white receipts. Compaq ads will appear on the "welcome" screen, during the "please wait" period or both. The campaign will include the slogan "24x7xCompaq," which seems especially appropriate, said ATM Advertising Inc. President Mike Szimanski. "ATMs operate nonstop 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and we're pleased our clients saw the connection," he said. "The need to reach target markets in new ways was also of interest. ATMs offer specific marketing strengths, solid demographic data, the undivided attention of the consumer during the transaction and diverse location options." ATM Advertising, Inc. identified the appropriate ATM networks in the required markets, negotiated pricing, scheduled placement and will monitor the program's execution. Founded in 1998, the company has assembled a national network of bank owned and independent ATMs to help advertisers target market buys. Its goal is to strengthen the use of the ATM as an advertising medium and provide pre-qualified networks with a registration and sales support agency to make their machines available to the media-buying community.
