Comerica Bank to offer shred day

Comerica Bank, a bank based in Michigan and a subsidiary of Comerica Inc., will hold its Shred Day event on June 11. During this event, the bank encourages the public to bring paper documents and electronic devices to recycle at the Comerica Bank Livonia Operation Center, according to a press release.

For the event, Comerica will partner with Iron Mountain Inc. and Information System Resources to allow individuals to dispose of sensitive documents, computers, keyboards, monitors and cellular devices.

"According to the Federal Trade Commission data released in February of this year, consumers reported losing more than $5.8 billion to fraud in 2021, and the number of victims continues to increase," Scott Beckerman, SVP and director of corporate sustainability, Comerica, said in the release. "This research reinforces the importance of providing our community with a secured recycling opportunity to protect themselves and their businesses from identity theft and fraud."
