Colombia's largest ATM network switches to remote key loading

The solution eliminates the time and expense of manual key-loading at the ATM with a two-person team.

August 14, 2014

Colombian ATM network manager A Toda Hora S.A. has completed implementation of remote key loading for its network, using the A98 ATM Remote Key Loading System from Trusted Security Solutions Inc. As a wholly owned subsidiary of the nation's largest financial conglomerate, Grupo Aval, Bogota-based ATH operates a network of 3,734 ATMs in 323 Colombian cities and towns.

As of this summer, all ATMs added to the ATH network receive cryptographic keys remotely using the TSS solution. This new procedure eliminates the need to dispatch two people to the ATM for manual key loading, and insures the highest possible security in the delivery of these keys to the ATM.

“Manual key loading of ATMs is a difficult proposition, both in terms of maintaining security compliance with PCI standards and maximizing uptime of the ATM fleet,” said Edgar Didié Rosas Cáceres, Postilion platform leader for management of IT solutions at A Toda Hora. “With the A98, we solve both problems.”
