Coinsource, which bills itself as the world's largest bitcoin ATM network, has expanded to the state of Colorado, where it has installed a total of eight machines in the cities of Broomfield (1), Boulder (5), Denver (1) and Lakewood (1).
In a press release, Coinsource said that Colorado has long been a priority state in its national expansion plans. The company said that residents, merchants and even legislators from the state have shown considerable interest in bitcoin over the past several years.
"We have been waiting to launch our machines into Colorado for a while now, and we look forward to integrating more machines across the state within 2018," Coinsource CEO Sheffield Clark said in the release.
Cark said that the company's user base continues to grow at "astronomical" rates, a phenomenon he attributes to its secure in-house software.
The Colorado bitcoin ATMs are installed close to main roads, in high-traffic areas, and in proximity to the University of Colorado and Colorado State University.
Coinsource said that in Colorado, bitcoin is now accepted as payment by the Denver International Airport parking service, by marijuana dispensaries and by several restaurants.
