May 3, 2007

ONTARIO, Calif. Co-Op Network has welcomed the $1.6 billion State Employees Credit Union of Maryland to its national surcharge-free ATM network. Headquartered in Baltimore SECU's has 248,000 members. The Co-Op Network currently operates 490 ATMs in Maryland and 25,000 machines across the U.S.

Co-Op Network has a partnership with 7-Eleven that provides surcharge-free ATM access for 24 million credit union cardholders at 5,500 7-Eleven locations.

"Co-Op's partnership with 7-Eleven is what ultimately sold us on the deal," said Hank Madera, SECU vice president, operations.  "We provide our members access to more machines than any other credit union or ATM network in the local area."

Founded in Baltimore in 1951, SECU is the largest credit union in Maryland and is ranked 49th in total assets in the United States.

"Another reason why we opted to add Co-Op Network ATMs to our comprehensive list of member benefits is because Co-Op's values parallel ours - throughout SECU's history, our focus has been to provide excellent service and fairly priced, quality products and services for our member-owners," Madera said.
