City National Bank appoints EVP, head of corporate banking

City National Bank, a subsidiary of Royal Bank of Canada headquartered in Los Angeles, appointed Chris Edmonds as EVP and head of commercial and national corporate banking. He will focus on improving client relationships and business growth in the region, according to a press release.
He previously served as EVP and executive director of commercial banking at Zions Bancorp. In his new role, he will report to Joe Yurosek, president of commercial banking.
"Chris' deep industry experience and strong client focus will help us grow our Commercial Banking business and deliver exceptional value to clients across the country," Yurosek said in the release. "He will be instrumental in strengthening our team as we expand our capabilities and deepen our client relationships. He is a solid leader, and I am looking forward to working with him as we continue to build a best-in-class Commercial Banking team."
