Citizens to deliver $10M for workforce development

Citizens will raise $10 million for the next two years for workforce development programs. This funding will support nonprofits to provide educational and career opportunities, according to a press release.
This is a part of the bank's overall sustainability and impact strategy to address community needs. It has already partnered with a variety of nonprofits such as Girls Who Code, Education Design Lab, LISC and more.
"Workforce development is a major focus for the bank and one that is top of mind for our clients and critical to the success of the communities we serve," Bruce Van Saun, chairman and CEO of Citizens, said in the release. "This investment is not just about supporting programs, it's about supporting people – people who are ready to learn, to grow, and contribute to the economic vitality of our communities."
